Mandy Matz [artist, musician, photographer] is the creator of Theory Anesthetic.  She grew up in small-town
Wisconsin where she trained horses and spent time outdoors. Mandy got her first violin at age 11 as a Christmas gift and a piano a few years later.

Mandy attended college for vocal performance at UW-Eau Claire and UW-Marathon Campus in Wisconsin and studied violin at the Wausau Conservatory of music. She played violin in the Wausau Symphony Orchestra.
Mandy sang Mozart's Requiem and Schubert's Mass at Carnegie Hall in 1997.

After 4 years of arduous college  study and performance, Mandy decided to take a step back from music. She felt
there was something else she wasn't getting from her studies and took five years to find a new outlet for
music creation. In 2005, Theory Anesthetic was conceived with the help of a Pentium II and a freeware
program called Buzz.

Today, Mandy uses other tools to create music and sound, her voice, a glockenspiel ... whatever is available for
her to tap, shake or shuffle.
